Doctor Rogers is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine and trained in the dermatology, dermatopathology, and immunodermatology at Duke University and the Mayo Clinic. He is Professor of Dermatology and Emeritus Dean at Mayo Clinic Rochester, where he has practiced, taught, conducted research, and carried out a laboratory practice since 1973.

Doctor Rogers has a keen interest in oral dermatology and medical education. He has published many articles, chapters and books about oral medicine/dermatology. His interests also include lichen planus, blistering diseases, and immunodermatology.
