Dr. Papier is Associate Professor of Dermatology and Medical Informatics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY. A dermatology and medical informatics expert, his research focuses on the development and study of real-time reference systems for physicians and consumers, concentrating on visually rich knowledge areas.

A graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, Dr. Papier completed his premed studies at Columbia University in New York and received his MD degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, VT. He completed his graduate training in dermatology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Papier's research interests include diagnostic error and decision support.
