Doctor Larry E. Millikan received his MD degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, following which he took his dermatology training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He then returned to Missouri, becoming Professor and Vice-Chairman under the late Dr. Philip C. Anderson. Subsequently, he served for 25 years as Professor and Chairman of Dermatology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, being elected Emeritus in the Katrina aftermath.

In addition to membership in the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Dermatological Association, and the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology, he serves on the editorial boards of several dermatology publications and is Deputy Editor of Clinics in Dermatology. His interests include medical education, clinical dermatology, tropical dermatology, dermatological surgery, mycology, and infectious diseases.
