Doctor Eve Lowenstein is a graduate of Queens College, where she majored in chemistry and participated in the honors program in literature, religion, and philosophy of the Western Tradition. She attended New York University School of Medicine's Medical Scientist Training Program, where she earned a Master of Science (MS, 1992), Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD, 1994) in Cellular and Molecular Biology and a Doctor of Medicine (MD, 1995). As a graduate student, Dr. Lowenstein cloned and characterized Grb-2, a gene central in oncogenesis signal transduction. Following a medical internship at Long Island Jewish Hospital, she took her dermatology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

Doctor Lowenstein is currently Chief of Dermatology at Brookdale University Medical Center, where she leads the clinic and consult service as well as training residents in dermatology, medicine, and pediatrics. She teaches at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn, where she is Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology. She is also an associate of South Nassau Dermatology PC, with offices in Oceanside and Long Beach, New York.

Doctor Lowenstein has authored over thirty research articles and three book chapters. She is currently active in clinical research and speaks on a local, regional, national and international level to medical and layperson audiences.
