Lowell Goldsmith, MD, MPH has been a researcher, author, and editor in dermatology for over forty years. His passion is the genetic disorders that affect the skin and their pathophysiology. His research has included the enzymes that cross-link proteins in the epidermis. He feels that communication between the basic sciences and the clinical sciences is essential for the improvement of patient and medical care.

Doctor Goldsmith has been a professor of dermatology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has been Dean of the medical school in Rochester. He has received the Rothman Award and Gold Medal of the Society of Investigative Dermatology, has been the Dohi lecturer of the Japanese Dermatological Association, and was the Van Scott Lecturer of the International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology. He has been Editor of the Journal of Investigative Dermatology and president of several dermatology organizations. Doctor Goldsmth is Co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of Logical Images, Rochester, NY.
