Professor Brenner is a graduate of the Tel Aviv University and completed her medical training at the University of Graz Medical School in Austria and at the Sackler School of Medicine of Tel Aviv University. She took her post-graduate training in the Department of Dermatology at Ichilov Hospital, which is affiliated with the Sackler School of Medicine of Tel Aviv University. From 1989 until 2008, she was Head of the Department of Dermatology at the Sourasky Medical Center of Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.

She serves as Section Editor of Women's Dermatology, which has evolved into Gender Dermatology. This has provided the impetus for the book, An Illustrated Manual of Gender Dermatology. Professor Brenner has authored many papers on a variety of dermatologic subjects and has served as co-editor of Women's Dermatology: from Infancy to Maturity and the Atlas of Women's Dermatology: from Infancy to Maturity.
