Dr. Berman received his MD and PhD degrees from the New York University School of Medicine and is Professor of Dermatology and Internal Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is presently a member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), a member of the AAD Development and Industry Liaison Committee, and Chairman of the AAD Poster Exhibits Task Force. He serves on the editorial boards of six dermatologic journals.

In addition to his faculty clinical practice and serving as Director of Dermatology of outpatient clinics and adult in-patient consultation service at Jackson Memorial Hospital Dermatology in Miami, FL, Dr. Berman directs the Skin Research Group's broad-based clinical research program. He is the author of more than 250 peer-reviewed scientific and clinical articles, chapters, and books. He was bestowed the "Scientist of the Year" Award from Sigma Xi, the Science and Research Honor Society, and is included among "The Best Doctors in America."
